Scant regard for the Environment

I'ma little petrified at total lack of regard for the environment exhibited by the so called literate elite. There is hardly any effort made to plant trees. Even worse, trees in one's own backyard (Sarkari bungalows) are mercilessly pruned till they give up and die or better still knocked down in the guise of storms et al. The entire backyard is therefater paved, so that it 'generates' heat and also does not permit any rain water to percolate below. Then, we complain that the groundwater yield is decreasing and curse the Jal Nigam for denying us our 'rightful' share. This is when most of the city manages with meagre supply of this precious commodity.
Anyway that's it for now...............
